“7 SUMMERS” OUT TODAY

Spending the summer dominating the charts, Big Loud/Republic Records’ Morgan Wallen has taken the Canadian country airwaves by storm, holding onto the #1 spot on Mediabase Canada’s country chart for three consecutive weeks with his fastest-rising single, “More Than My Hometown.” This follows his previous Canadian #1 successes with singles “Up Down” (2x PLATINUM),  “Whiskey Glasses” (4x PLATINUM) and “Chasin’ You” (2x PLATINUM).

“More Than My Hometown,” his 4th consecutive #1, also laid the groundwork for the release of “7 Summers,” a track that saw Wallen smash streaming records in both the US and Canada. Quickly recognized as a career-changing release for Wallen, “7 Summers” was only the fifth song to start at the summit of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in the history of the chart since its inception in 1958, and the first to do so since 2017. With the release of “7 Summers” Wallen topped both the Country Streaming Songs and Country Digital Songs Sales charts as well and saw his debut LP IF I KNOW ME return to the top of Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. Wallen was the first artist to hold these four chart-topping spots simultaneously since Luke Combs with “Beautiful Crazy.”

Today, Wallen, who recently took home a win in the Best New Country Artist at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, will make his acting debut in the official video for his summer smash “7 Summers.” Directed by Justin Clough and shot in Nashville, TN, the cinematic eight-minute short film depicts the song’s “nostalgic look back at a lost love” (Rolling Stone), reviving what happened “seven summers ago” on-screen. It is anticipated that the video will become an instant fan favourite.

Last week the award-winning artist spoke to Bobby Bones for the highly-regarded Bobbycast, speaking directly about his life — his quick climb to the top of the charts, becoming a father and how he plans to move forward into 2021. Tune into the episode HERE.

Fans can catch Wallen this Wednesday (11/11), as he performs his fourth Canadian #1 single “More Than My Hometown,” while vying for New Artist of the Year, on the 54th Annual CMA Awards airing on ABC.
